چکیده

The term haptic refers to the tactile sensation perceived by the user when he is manipulating objects in a Virtual Environment. These sensations are extremely important in Virtual Reality simulators for training medical and dental procedures with the goal of increasing the level of motor skills. Many tasks trained, such as teeth and bones drilling, are held in rigid bodies and require parts of the virtual models to be removed. One way to manipulate these objects is by using voxel-based models, which divide the object into smaller parts that can be removed by the haptic device. This paper deals with a new method for haptic rendering with voxel-based rigid bodies that may be composed of various materials with different densities. The method describes the process for obtaining and storing the virtual objects. In addition it details the techniques used for collision detection, calculating the force feedback and removing parts of objects during the drilling process. The paper ends with an experiment that shows that the method provides stability, supports removal of voxels and different material

Application of Iron Electrode in Textile Industry Wastewater Treatment Using Electro-fenton Technique: Experimental and Statistical Study

The application of synthetic colors in textile industries and their entry into the water and groundwater is an environmental problem because of being very toxic material. The synthetic colors which are used in textile dyeing (plyacrilic and polyester) are usually dispersing colorants. They derive the azo and anthraquinone chemicals. Electro-Fenton process is an efficient technique which can deg...

In-Plane Analysis of an FGP Plane Weakened by Multiple Moving Cracks

In this paper, the analytical solution of an electric and Volterra edge dislocation in a functionally graded piezoelectric (FGP) medium is obtained by means of complex Fourier transform. The system is subjected to in-plane mechanical and electrical loading. The material properties of the medium vary exponentially with coordinating parallel to the crack. In this study, the rate of the gradual ch...

Cracking Elements Method for Simulating Complex Crack Growth

The cracking elements method (CEM) is a novel numerical approach for simulating fracture of quasi-brittle materials. This method is built in the framework of conventional finite element method (FEM) based on standard Galerkin approximation, which models the cracks with disconnected cracking segments. The orientation of propagating cracks is determined by local criteria and no explicit or implic...

Multiple Moving Cracks in a Nonhomogeneous Orthotropic Strip

The problem of several finite moving cracks in a functionally graded material is solved by dislocation technique under the condition of anti-plane deformation. By using the Fourier transform the stress fields are obtained for a functionally graded strip containing a screw dislocation. The stress components reveal the familiar Cauchy singularity at the location of dislocation. The solution is em...
